We’ve been thinking about buying a place of our very own since about three weeks post-wedding. And thinking of ideas for the home since then as well. Which means we’ve been able to weed out bad ideas and settle on things we do like as a couple.
J’s aesthetic is much different than mine, so combining the two of those is no small feat. I.e.- he’s a LOT more of a “country/ rustic”, while I’m a bit more on the “modern/ geometric” side of things. You may never hear me say this again, but in this instance, my personal aesthetic is all wrong… FOR THE HOUSE. (No, that doesn’t mean that I just admitted to being wrong. Nope, nope, nope.)
But I feel confident we’ll end up with a home that suits the both of us. All of these ideas were pulled from our (shared) pinterest board here.
So in the midst of our brainstorming, we also know it’s important to go in with a plan. We’ve started our list of priorities (Fence-finishing is #1), and have selected a color palette. Sherwin Williams just managed to get all the tones we like into one collection (a new one!).
Just to keep us on track, here’s our priority list upon move-in:
- Fence-building/ finishing
- Cabinet cleaning/ papering
- Prime/ paint den
